Fides Entrepreneurship: Sean Fieler, Always putting his faith first

“I wrote three checks for $5,000,” Sean said.
“Two were to conservative groups. The third was to a political group supporting a cause in the Middle East. That last one got returned—they didn’t want to take money from me because of who I was. But it taught me an important lesson.”
At just 27, Sean Fieler began donating to Catholic and conservative causes. Raised in Northern California near San Francisco, he witnessed the Church’s decline early on—both in doctrine and family life.
“Even though I went to Catholic school, most of my classmates came from divorced families and were very fluid about their faith. We were one of the only families that really practiced. That always stood out to me.”
At Williams College, a surprising figure drew him back to the Church—a girl he admired.
“We didn’t end up dating for long—she wanted to be a female priest—but she brought me back to Mass. That mattered more.”
After college, Sean moved to New York to work at Mason Hill Advisors a hedge fund. His career was taking off—but his soul felt off-balance.
“I started going to daily Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, right next to my office. That’s when everything began to change. I would say that when I started receiving Communion every day, I began to feel that the Eucharist is the foundation of my Catholic faith.”
In 2001, Sean made his first million. Unlike many who chase comfort or luxury, Sean made a different decision:
“I knew I had to do something with it. I needed to build something that stood for the values I was raised with—especially as I watched our culture and Church unravel, especially living in a city like New York.”
Those first initial $10,000 in donations have now multiplied into over $40 million given to Catholic renewal and pro-life causes.
Sean has supported for example:

African Mission Healthcare – Supporting Catholic Dr. Tom Catena and the Mother of Mercy Hospital in Nuba, Sudan
FEMM Health – A natural fertility tracking app rooted in Catholic Natural Family Planning
Students for Life – Building the first truly Pro-Life generation
FOCUS – Catholic Pastor and lay missionary outreach on over 210 college campuses
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America – Advancing Pro-Life legislation and candidates
