Fides Entrepreneurship: Marcela and Finding Faith Amidst Loss
We cannot thank you enough for the great event yesterday morning in Brooklyn. Marcela really displayed the role of how your life can go full circle when it comes to what God has in store (not literally) for you.
If you haven’t experienced a loss, Marcela teaches us that even amidst it, God is still there even though we may think he is trying to hurt us.
Here are 3 takeaways that may help you as a Catholic Female Founder in your walk of faith and very possibly opening your own flower shop or coffee shop one day:

1. Her Faith Grew Through Loss and Pain
Marcela lost her fiancé just days before their new life together was to begin. Her grief pushed her away from God, but is also what eventually led her back. Through Adoration (Hakuna), community, and the silent presence of God, she found the strength to keep going.
"It’s not ‘Why me?’ It’s ‘What are you trying to show me, God?’
That shift changed everything."

2. Your Calling Often Hides Until You Realize Something is Missing
Marcela didn’t open her shop because she had a perfect plan. She opened it because flowers brought peace to her when everything else fell apart. What began as something that she liked on the side ultimately became something she realized she needed.
"I didn’t know what I was doing. I just knew that when I arranged flowers, I felt joy again as it reminded me of my fiancé. I was able to be reminded of the good times in New York and him by opening Tulips & Sips.

3. Community Is a Form of Healing
There is a spirit behind Tulips & Sips. Marcela sees every customer as a soul. Her hope is to create a space where people feel safe as ultimately it isn’t that people are always searching for coffee but are actually trying to avoid loneliness.
"Some people come in for coffee. But what they really want is conversation—and to be reminded that they matter."
If you liked this you won’t believe what’s coming next:
Just like Elon Musk, you too will find Pierre Ferrgau’s at next weeks event remarkably insightful.
The fact that he:
Is regularly interviewed by Bloomberg and CNBC for his market insights on companies like Tesla, Nvidia, and Intel,
Runs a monthly outreach for the homeless in Midtown (he’ll be holding one tomorrow—if you’d like to join, just reply to this email),
And is leading the launch of The Bernadette Musical in the United States,
—shows that you can do a great deal of good while running a successful business, even in the heart of Wall Street.
You’ll learn from him that truly God is always speaking to us. He’s always giving us opportunities to take action—no matter where you are on your entrepreneurial path. The only question is: Will you say yes?
No doubt you may get some great insights not only on how to invest but an answer at our event next week on how to say yes to what God has in store for you.
