Fides Entrepreneurship: Summer Volunteering Reflection & Cristofer Pereyra on Thursday September 25th

Labor Day Celebrations
Dear Fides Entrepreneurship Community,
The year has officially begun! After a summer full of rest and renewal—not least Labor Day—we are stepping into this new season with joy, energy, and purpose.
What did Fides Entrepreneurship do over the summer?
This August, I was blessed to serve with the Order of Malta Federal Association at the Order of Malta’s International Summer Camp in the Netherlands, a week long gathering for young people with special needs aged 18 to 35.
My guest taught me that it’s really about the smaller moments and things in life. Having taking care of him every day from 7AM to 2AM for 6 days at first instance you would think it was a burden but as day 3 passed I realized something: When you’re loved you can do more then what you expect.
The love and kindness we received from some of our guests really made me realize that even on 0% sleep you really can do the impossible as you do it for the love of the other person.
Looking back they were very long days but days full of true love and experience.
Even I had a weak moment at the camp and my guest looked after me at that very moment to make sure I was okay.
Leaving the camp I left with a truly more solidified vision of a dream I’ve been holding for a long time in the bottom of my heart: the desire to one day become a parent.
That is one of the greatest gifts I had this summer. To realize what is important and truly matters in life. I cannot thank my guest enough for that as it’s a true grace as well as the Order of Malta Federal Association and Richard Mena who guided us!

Now we’re back though and in full-swing as we begin this year full of excitement and new energy!
We cannot wait to announce multiple things that we have in the works that have been taking some time to get up but are very excited for this upcoming event we have on Thursday September 25th at 19:00 with Cristofer Pereyra, Co-Founder & CEO of Tepeyac Leadership.

Cristofer will share:
The story of launching the first Catholic leadership program in the U.S.
How its graduates are now transforming communities by serving on boards, running for office, and shaping the institutions where decisions are made.
The daily disciplines and habits that Tepeyac instills, practices that don’t just inform leadership, but transform it.
A look at the cost of leadership: showing up when it’s hard, serving when it’s inconvenient, and saying “yes” to God’s call even when it brings us out of our comfort zone.
In Cristofer’s words:
"Most of our graduates are serving on boards, non-profit, for profit, faith based, private, all kinds, big and small. When they graduate from the program. That's what we tell them, that's what they know that they're supposed to do, insert themselves into the secular institutions of society so that we can have a voice at all of the tables where decisions are made. That's the big focus of Tepeyac leadership. And so our graduates are doing that.
Just a handful of them have even run for office at the local level, public school districts, things of this sort. And that's exactly the vision.”
We cannot wait for you to hear his story!
