Fides Entrepreneurship: Pierre Ferragu, Balancing Wealth and Faith

Credits: Bloomberg
It was about two years ago, on a cold winter night at the parish house of Old Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, when I first heard about Pierre Ferragu.
“Pierre is the one behind launching the Saint Bernadette musical,” Father Daniel told us during a Lumen Institute Men’s Encounter. “A lot of people are really behind it—there’s a true need for something like this, as a way for people to come back to the Church.”
That was the first time I heard his name.
After learning about this incredible project, I found myself asking: How does someone balance wealth and faith? Who can stand as a real example of success, yet still live with humility and charity?
Even before we began Fides Entrepreneurship, Pierre stood out to me as that example—and even more so now, as we prepare for this upcoming interview.
The fact that he:
Is regularly interviewed by Bloomberg and CNBC for his market insights on companies like Tesla, Nvidia, and Intel,
Runs a monthly outreach for the homeless in Midtown (he’ll be holding one tomorrow—if you’d like to join, just reply to this email),
And is leading the launch of The Bernadette Musical in the United States,
—shows that you can do a great deal of good while running a successful business, even in the heart of Wall Street.
You might expect someone in Pierre’s position to be cautious about his faith. But he lives it openly. He even appeared in an interview at the Montgomery Summit with ashes on his forehead for Ash Wednesday—an act that might seem small, but speaks volumes.
I hope you see it as more than a talk though. It’s a reminder that a seed has already been planted in you. God gives us opportunities to do good—sometimes again and again—to make sure we know it’s His will. But in the end, we have to decide whether or not to respond.
“I’ve always gotten very, very clear signals that I was not meant to give up—so I haven’t given up.”
He shared one of those moments:
“That day, I had made up my mind to call France and tell them I couldn’t continue. I was ready to give up—I didn’t believe I’d ever find the financing I needed. But I went to a business meeting that same day.
There was someone in the room I felt didn’t quite belong there. I didn’t know him, but it stood out. I thought it was strange. As I leaned over to pour myself a coffee, he did the same for tea—and at that moment, his Miraculous Medal of Mary fell right in front of my eyes.
It stopped me cold.
After the meeting, I asked if we could speak for 15 minutes. A few weeks later, I told him about the project. He said yes—on the spot.
That’s just one example. Every time I’ve come close to giving up, I’ve received a quiet but unmistakable sign that I’m meant to keep going.”
Pierre’s story is a testimony to what can happen when we stop, listen, and act.
So what I hope each of you takes away from this: God is always speaking. He’s always giving us opportunities to take action—no matter where you are on your entrepreneurial path. The only question is: Will you say yes?
